Artcade - The Book of Classic Arcade Game Art (Extended Edition)

In 2015, Bitmap Books joined forces with arcade enthusiast Tim Nicholls to release the first edition of Artcade, a passion project stemming from Nicholls' dedication to restoring his extensive collection of original arcade game artwork spanning four decades.

Now, in this Extended Edition, we've expanded upon Nicholls' remarkable work by incorporating newly restored artwork and exclusive written content. While preserving Nicholls' mission to revive classic coin-op artwork, this edition features additional contributions from collectors, restorers, and fans, resulting in a more comprehensive representation of arcade cabinet art. We've increased the selection of marquee artwork and included more side panel and cabinet art to provide a fuller picture of each machine's original glory. Responding to feedback from the first edition, we've redesigned Artcade Extended with one image per page to enhance readability and visual appeal.

While the artwork remains the focal point, Artcade Extended offers richer written content, including a brand-new, exclusive interview with Larry Day, renowned for his work on titles like Moon Patrol and Catacomb pinball. Day's insights into arcade industry history enrich the bold illustrations, while an in-depth 'how-to' chapter, featuring contributions from Escape Pod, guides enthusiasts interested in restoring arcade classics.

Artcade Extended is housed in a Glow-in-the-Dark slipcase made from heavy board, providing excellent protection for the book's spine.
